Múlafossur

  • Múlafossur, Gásadalur

Múlafossur is a must see for any visitor to the Faroe Islands!

The picturesque village of Gásadalur, with its 13 inhabitants, lies in the west part of Vágar. (Population dated 2023)
At the heart of the village lies Múlafossur waterfall - one of the biggest tourist attractions on the Faroe Islands. The view of Gásadalur and Múlafossur is spectacular: the waterfall that falls off the island.
The lookout point by the waterfall offers a breathtaking view of the village and the nearby Mykines Island.

Please respect the environment around the waterfall!

Please respect the signage
Stick to the clear paths, and do not step outside fences and markings. The terrain around the waterfall is very steep and dangerous.
Please drive carefully, park your car in the marked parking area, and walk the rest of the way to the waterfall. It's only a 5-minute walk!

And remember to get a coffee or lunch at the local café and check the option of getting on a guided Beer and Barley tour with a local farmer.
