Miðvágur is a small village with 1046 inhabitants. Fishing industry is the main income for Miðvág. In Miðvágur you will find one of the oldest house on the Islands. It's called Kálvalíð, and was originally used to rehouse priestwidows about year 1600 and thereafter. The only british cementary is in Miðvág. The soldiers who passed away on the Faroe Islands are burried here in Miðvág. From Miðvág one can go guided horse-riding tours, also there are great opportunities to hike without guide in this area.  |
